Thirty-one local businesses bring umbrellas indoor for April
Bloomington, IL (March 26, 2014) – Thirty-one local businesses are placing umbrellas on display inside their establishments for the month of April in support of Child Abuse Awareness month. Because umbrellas are the symbol of the Child Protection Network (CPN) of services, local artists were enlisted to create works on umbrellas. The umbrellas will be on display at CPN’s awareness month kick-off event held at the Insideout Accessible Art Gallery at 318 N. Main St. Bloomington on Friday, April 4th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Local partnering businesses will display the umbrella art starting April 11th through April 30th. A community-wide contest will award prizes to individuals who locate the most CPN umbrellas.
“The umbrellas are beautiful and unique, just like the children we are trying to protect,” noted Judy Brucker, Child Protection Network’s CEO. “We appreciate the support of the local businesses who are partnering with us to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect in our community.” For more information about the umbrellas, contest rules and ways to get involved on behalf of community children visit www.mcleancpn.org throughout April.
The Child Protection Network supports the rights of children in cases of child abuse and neglect throughout McLean, Livingston and DeWitt Counties.
