THE AMERICAN RED CROSS IS ASKING FOR YOUR HELP . . .
On Wednesday, October 10 the Heritage Operations Group will be hosting a blood drive with the American Red Cross at Heritage Plaza (115 W. Jefferson St.) in the Grandview Room on 3rd floor. The Red Cross has contacted us because they are experiencing a serious blood shortage which has only been increased by the impact of the recent hurricanes and natural disasters.
There is a CRITICAL need for blood right now to help meet local needs as well as those that were affected by the recent hurricane. Type O blood is CRITICALLY needed in our area now due to low donations. The blood shortage has been exacerbated by Hurricane Florence’s impact which caused blood drive cancellations. Blood collections were negatively impacted with thousands of donor appointments that were cancelled Everyone is aware of the devastation from the hurricane and looking for ways to help those affected. A great way to help is to take time to get signed up to donate blood. It is an easy and no cost way to make a difference.
The Red Cross is doing everything they can right now to pull in donors to help cure the blood shortage. You will notice on the flyer that anyone giving blood during the month of October will have their name put in a drawing for (5) $500 gift cards. This is a great incentive to step up to the plate and roll up your sleeve.
