Two of the founding artists, Herb Eaton and Angel Ambrose, have welcomed visitors to their spaces for the Art Walk since its inception in 2000. Over these past 23 years, Eaton and Ambrose have been privileged to witness the community of Downtown artists continually grow. What began as three artists desiring to connect with the people of Bloomington-Normal has evolved into a burgeoning downtown art scene with over 120 local artists’ work on display, 20 art spaces, and more than 35 public art installations. The Art Walk offers visitors the perfect opportunity to engage with local artists and enhance their living space or workspace with unique and creative work made by hand.
This year’s Art Walk also hails two additional celebrations – the One-Year Anniversary festivities at Mandy Roeing Fine Art Studio & Gallery and Threshold to Hope’s Grand Re-Opening as Hope Studio & Gallery in their new location on the first floor of the Fox & Hounds Building!
