Public art in Downtown Bloomington, IL has been growing since the early 1900's with the Trotter Fountain as the oldest public art still featured downtown.  The public art scene in Downtown Bloomington continues to evolve as artists in the community continue to create and expand public art downtown through a variety of partnerships. All of the public art, with a few minor exceptions, is free to view at any time and remains outdoors year-long.

There are plenty of privately owned studios and galleries downtown, as well as, the McLean County Arts Center and McLean County Museum of History both of which host public art shows. For a full listing of the studios and galleries downtown check out our arts & entertainment directory.
